RE: Leveling the nose

.......The site we are slopes front to back. I can't seem to get the nose low enough due to the front legs being drawn all the way up.......
If this is correct, all of the suggestions except one will not work! On a site that slopes downward front to back, if you can't get level with the jacks all the way up, you will have to raise the entire camper with blocks under the tires.

RE: Watch carefully which CG you stay at in Tennessee

I believe that IRS already has a definition of a house that most RVs fit, and tents do not...........
Well, I certainly feel better now!

RE: doubletree select suites brakes

.........the Ford controller is not a Prodigy its built like a Brakesmart and runs off of brake line pressure. Takonsha may have had some hand in the design but its totally different from the Prodigy.
Thanks, Denny, for a refreshing bit of actual knowledge!

RE: doubletree select suites brakes

......The brakes are electric drums so you should have no problem with your controller. You may want to upgrade to a Prodigy in the future........
I don't believe he can "upgrade" his brake controller. The Prodigy would be a substantial downgrade! The Ford built-in system and the aftermarket Brakesmart system would be comparable to the GM system and I believe all three are superior to any of the others!

RE: "Homeless in Seattle"... 5th wheel in shop, AGAIN!

I don't think it's a "bad hair day". Wayne sounds like one of those people that have the same brand camper and apparently feel that others having problems with theirs makes them personally look foolish, so they must be lying about the problems. Since I don't know what brand camper Wayne has, I don't know if that's it, but I sure know that's what it sounds like!

RE: 2009 Ford 1/2 ton

I think some folks are hung up on the designation "1/2 ton, 3/4 ton and 1 ton". The name has very little to do with their relative capability!

RE: Lippert Frame/Pin Box Issues

...........The welds look like someone with little or no experience performed the work. I do not blame Lippert because they are building frames explicit for the rv manufacturers. The RV manufacturer that accepts such shoddy quality and builds their product on it should be held accountable and not Lippert....
Even harder to believe!

RE: Its raining ceiling fixtures.

If you put in a "normal" fixture, you could cut a small hole to pull the wire thru, which would be covered by the installed fixture.

RE: Couple of 5th Wheel Questions

Having the pin in different holes in each leg to compensate for an unlevel side to side pad is correct. A thin wood board under one side or the other will allow you to balance the load exactly.

RE: Replacing axle - need advice

Old Racer, sorry to have taken so long to respond. I don't recall what the cost was for the axles themselves and I can't find the Invoice. The mounting wasn't an issue, as I was going up in axle capacity and raising the camper to match a new truck.

Could be. Towing front high tends to put more of the weight on the rear axle.
